The barnard PROJECT

One of Designer Builders’ most challenging projects incorporated the careful razing of a homeowner’s family home and orienting the new home to take advantage of existing walkways and foliage.

Native timber was repurposed into the porch and breezeway ceilings, as well as wainscoting in the game room, and bricks were salvaged for use where possible. The use of several species of wood such as Ipe, knotty alder and heart pine, adds charm to this new construction. Recreation of the original mantle, use of the original foyer fixture and custom leaded glass makes this home perfectly suited to a historic Aiken neighborhood. This four-bedroom, four and a half bath home affords a generous outdoor living area and a lovely pool.
